Ant-Man Review

Beware of Spoilers! You have been warned!

Alright so, I’m basically going to be listing out my opinion on the content of the movie itself (Example: I will be rating the movie’s action, drama, special effects and etc on a scale of 1 to 5.) and then I will tell you my overall opinion of the movie.

Action – The action was amazing and different when compared to previous Marvel movies, I mean… You can’t exactly say that there was a fight scene that took place in the middle of a child’s train set that involved two people that were shrunk to the size of an insect, a bunch of ants and Thomas the Train. Also the fight scene between Ant-Man and Falcon was a nice prelude to Captain America: Civil War. I’ll give the action sequences a 5 out of 5.

Comedy – What can I really say about the comedy? The jokes were hilarious, varying from an ant growing to the size of a dog to three criminals slowly backing away from a group of cops, and let’s not forget about the van’s horn which seemed to go off at the worst times. I’ll give the comedy a 5 out of 5.

Drama – The conflict between Hank Pym and Hope Van Dyne with Scott Lang in the middle while it wasn’t something that lead to a battle between Hank and Hope with Scott trying to break it up, did add some slight tension during the early parts of the movie however at the end it did seem like it wasn’t really needed. I’ll give the drama a 3 out of 5.

Romance – There wasn’t really any romance, however the romance that did exist in the movie (unless I missed something during the movie) came from left field with Hank Pym catching Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne kissing in the middle of a hallway. I’ll give the romance a 1 out of 5

Villain – The villain (Darren Cross/Yellowjacket) seemed legitimately crazy and in my personal opinion was a great villain for Ant-Man, showing what happens when you mess around with the Pym Particles for too long and also being a very intimidating villain. I’ll give the villain a 5 out of 5

Special Effects/CGI – The special effects were used perfectly and looked realistic and it wasn’t obvious that they were computer generated so that’s a plus. Overall I had no problems with the Special Effects/CGI so I’ll give the Special Effects/CGI a 5 out of 5

Costumes – Again, I had no problem with the costumes and they looked very well done. I’ll give the costumes a 5 out of 5

Overall I loved the movie despite the kiss from out of left field so I’ll give it a 5 out of 5

Avengers Academy Review

So for any of you who don’t know what Avengers Academy is, it’s an app where you create your own academy for teenage versions of your favorite superheroes such as Iron Man & Captain America as well as a couple of villains which includes Loki, The Enchantress and Taskmaster. The app is available on Google Play for those of you on Android devices. It is also available in the App Store for those of you on Mac devices.

Okay! So to move on to the actual review of the app, I will be reviewing the app using my own opinions on the gameplay, graphics and other aspects of the game.

Gameplay – Avengers Academy is basically a time management tycoon game, you have a list of actions that you can make your heroes (and villains) do to complete missions, missions which give you rewards that you can use towards unlocking a new hero or villain. Some of the actions however take way too long to complete in my opinion, some taking as long as 8 hours. While for many this style of gameplay in an app would get boring, I personally find it addictive so I’ll give the gameplay a 4 out of 5.

Graphics/Art – The graphics in Avengers Academy reminds me of a cartoony video game or even a comic book that was targeted towards children. I personally don’t love this kind of art but I also don’t hate it, I’ll give the graphics a 3 out of 5.

Story – The app has around three different storylines that all occur around the same time. You have a story that involves Hydra, you have a story that involves A.I.M and then you have a story around something called the Timefog. Overall I’m not that interested in the stories and it seems like the stories are just there to be there so I’ll give the stories a 2 out of 5.

Overall, I enjoy playing this game and while it may have a few bugs it seems like the developers of the game (TinyCo) are looking to improve it and make it more enjoyable so I’ll give the app a 7.5/10.

UPDATE: TinyCo has released multiple events since I have posted this review which have not accompanied updates to the main story, but they do completely take over the app while they’re around because of how difficult they are unless you spend all of your time playing it. It has become more of a job to play the game but I will keep playing because of my Marvel Addiction.

My Fourth Book

After a long absence from writing books I finally published my fourth book which is a sequel to my earlier book What Do You See (Volume 1), without deviating far from the first book I took some new pictures that I took and told you what I saw in the picture. It’s still a good way to test your imagination.

Avengers: Age of Ultron Review

Beware of Potential Spoilers and Opinions! You have been warned!

Alright so, I’m basically going to be listing out my opinion on the content of the movie itself (Example: I will be rating the movie’s action, drama, special effects and etc on a scale of 1 to 5.) and then I will tell you my overall opinion of the movie.

Action – Might as well start with action… There was a good amount of action in this Avengers movie, there was four action sequences in it which weren’t too lengthy (Five if you include the birth of Vision.) They could’ve been a little more exciting though in my opinion and Ultron’s clones didn’t have to have the precision of a Storm Trooper. I’ll have to give the action a 3 out of 5 for the Action in the movie.

Comedy – It was basically a normal Marvel movie with the jokes thrown in here and there, the comedic callbacks to Steve’s “Language” remark were amazing and the other jokes were just as amazing, although the Ultron jokes (While funny) just didn’t seem to go well with the character itself. Overall, I’ll have to give the comedy a 5 out of 5.

Drama – There wasn’t a whole lot of Drama in my opinion, what was there actually seemed to fit well with the situations as well as perfectly foreshadowing the events to occur in Captain America 3. For example the exchange between Steve and Tony at Hawkeye’s secret family’s modest ranch house… thing, gave you a brief look at what may happen in Captain America 3. Bruce’s conflict over being The Hulk was very prominent and very justified. Natasha’s inner conflict over being Black Widow, while justified, made me cringe a little… overall I’ll have to give it a 4 out of 5.

Romance – There isn’t a whole lot here for me to review but I am going to review what was there. Clint’s conversation with his secret wife basically had the best romance in the movie, and we didn’t even know she existed through-out the entirety of Hawkeye’s MCU existence. The Black Widow and Hulk romance basically just made me cringe, the only parts that didn’t make me cringe was Widow “taming” the Hulk and Natasha calling Bruce a dork, I’m gonna have to give this a 1.5 out of 5.

Villain – The way they interpreted Ultron made it seem like they just wanted to make a robotic version of Loki in my opinion. While he was intimidating in some points of the movie, the fact that he couldn’t even remember the word Children and he was a robot with a connection to the internet just made him seem worthless… not to mention the whole Ultron-Troopers, but to be fair he did do a lot of damage as well as having a plan that seemed nearly impossible to stop so… I’ll have to give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Special Effects/CGI – I don’t have any problems with the special effects/CGI, they were properly utilized, they looked amazing and realistic, and they didn’t use the CGI on all of the suits. I’ll give it a 5 out of 5.

Costumes – Again, I don’t have any problems with the costumes, they didn’t seem impossible to move in and they looked good. 5 out of 5 again.

The movie overall, while having it’s flaws, was good and I’ll have to give it 4 out of 5. I would recommend it.

[No Longer Available] My First Book

[No Longer Available for Purchase]

I have recently posted my first book called Block Boy, which is about a boy that is different from all the other kids in his school. It was very fun to write the book, and I am very excited knowing that people can read what I wrote. There are four illustrations created by myself.   This book is a short story.  I was inspired to make this book because of the worldwide issue of people being bullied and the reason I thought about publishing the book was to help the people being bullied in the world and help inspire them not to take being bullied like the world was going to end if you tell an adult about it. Bullying is not a good thing, no matter which side you are on. If you see somebody being bullied, tell someone!

This is a link to my book. Feel free to buy it as long as you have a kindle app on your computer or you have a kindle of any kind. Buy Here
